What is the server OS (Operating System)?

OS means Operating System. Without a operating system any server can’t work. OS is a manager which manages or communicate the server software and hardware. An operating system is simply a system application which manages user applications and their interaction with the system hardware. An operating is a program that acts as an intermediary between a user of a computer and the computer hardware. Operating system is a resource allocator. Much of the operating system theory concentrates on optimal use of computing resources.

A server OS is called a server operating system which is operated a system specifically designed to run on server, which are specialized computers that operate within a client/server architecture to serve the requests of client computers on the network.

There are 5 types of OS generally used. Those are given below:

  2. Multi-Processing
  3. Multi-Tasking
  4. Multi-Threading
  5. Real-Time
